Cancer is one of the most feared diagnoses in America. Everyday, people fear that they will go to see the doctor, and receive the terrible news. Luckily, there are many different ways to determine if the cancer is spreading, or if it’s just a simple tumor, easy to remove. Others, not so lucky. Chemotherapy is another option that kills the cancer cells with radiation, that hurts the patient for the moment, but helps in the long run. Patients should be more inclined into taking chemotherapy rather than turning it down due to the rapid success it has in helping patients, by killing the cancer cells, instead of giving up and using home remedies. Chemotherapy was intended to attack rapid growing cells in the body, but could affect other cells. The chemo can affect not just the growth of hair and the skin, but also the bone marrow and your intestines as well. The chemo can sometimes destroy cancer cells to the point where it might not come back but that doesn't happen all the time. Chemo can help reduce the spread of cancer to other parts of the body and also reduce the growth of tumors. There is times where chemo does neither of these things but rather just ease the pain that cancerous cells and tumors cause by reducing the pressure of these tumors on the body by shrinking them but not completely making them go away. Immediately after the diagnosis, doctors go over the different types of treatments available, however the most efficient of the treatments is chemotherapy. Another form of treatment that some believe to work is simply removing the tumor in hopes that it stops the spreading cells. The problem is that there is a high chance that the cancer will come back and continue to spread.
