Although climate change has been a issue for many years, the topic did not start to get popular until the 1980’s. The science of the climate soon caught the general public eye as a political concern. Numerous climate researchers in the 80’s figured that global warming was going to harm the planet very soon. Without the proper research and budgeting, the scientists were disappointed until Ronald Reagan’s presidency came into place. Under his administration, the United States turned into the prime mover behind the Montreal Protocol, which required the eliminating of ozone-exhausting synthetic compounds. Countless conservatives denied almost every environmental stress that the United States tried to bring to attention but the backlash did not trigger the government.
Scientific exchanges throughout the years produced lively mainstream debates.
