How would you feel if your loved ones got into a car crash, but not on accident? Drunk driving crashes are never accidents. Drunk driving is a serious issue. Drunk driving is also known as D.U.I. (driving under influence).
Because of safety concerns, many states have increased the age at which teens can begin to drive. Driving is very important. It allows someone to get where they need to be without having to depend on others to take them there. It also requires responsibility. In order to drive, you have to be safe and follow the laws.

Driving is apart of most teens, and adults lives for many years. There are many exciting moments from getting a license to cramming as many friends in into a car (Zermike 6-7). On the other hand there are terrifying moments from being involved in a car accident, to losing your life, and your friends life. It is important for teens to realize the responsibilities that come with driving.
Although, all teens are not ready to drive on their own there are some that have jobs to get to or sometimes they need their license to get to school because it’s hard on their parents to get them there because of their jobs. When teenagers are living under the roof of their parents or grandparents or whoever their guardian is they are more parental controlled and their parents may tell them where they can and cannot go. When they are 18 and get their license they won’t have that parental guidance or restrictions on what they can do on their license. In today’s youth they are more likely to go to a party or sit around and binge drink, because they don’t really know what it’s like and so they are going to follow the crowd.
I first started by searching “Driving License” but I did not find anything intriguing that I was able to relate to. Multiple topics that would appear were about driver’s licenses outside of the United States. To make it more specific, I did a more advanced search, by typing in “Driving License” AND “ The United States of America” AND “Young adults.” After searching through different articles that came up on my screen, I found the perfect article, “Delay or Forgo? For example, teens with a licence can get a job more easily than those who don't. They can transport themselves there, and get shifts that fit their schedules. Many teens get jobs to help pay for tutoring and college. Also, 16-17 year olds with a licence can drive themselves to school. This makes it easier for parents who start work early and families that don't live close to a school.
How do you get to school, a job, or just hang out with your friends? More than likely someone drives or picks you up and brings you to the destination. The driving age should remain the same because, at sixteen, more responsibilities are given out. A big part of highschool is becoming more independent to become more prepared for college or life, and driving is one of the biggest symbols of independence.

Maturity, meaning learning how to deal with everyday life, learning how to overcome temptations, and also learning carefulness. A teen needs to be able to drive themselves to their workplace; a guardian is not going to want to drive their teenager to and from work all the time.
