You’re driving as you would on a normal day, except a teen driver made a left turn while you were giving straight ahead. A fatal accident that could have been avoided. Proving teens are not ready to get on the road just yet, due to their impulse and reckless behavior. The driving age minimum should be raised.

Driving requires more than just two arms and the ability to steer a wheel. Driving is more than that. Maintaining your eyes on the road, changing between the brake and the accelerator, checking the speed limit, all are big factors that teens just aren’t ready to part take in. For instance, the brain of a 16-year-old isn’t fully developed for multitasking or for making very rash decisions when under pressure. The frontal lobe, a part of the brain which contributes to decision-making skills, is proved to not be fully developed until the age of 20 or maybe even 25 (Keisha Waites). Keisha Waites states that “social media that today’s young drivers have to be concerned with.” There is an added risk when teens drive, their thoughts are more on what's cool or not more than the rules of the road. In addition, when teens look up to role models, such as DJ Khaled, who crashed because he was not focused on the road but on a less important task like sharing videos, teens soak up what he did and not what it caused. Kate Zernike agrees that teens overrate their driving skills and brush off risks as if they could handle it. Teenagers are way out of line here, they expect to be professionals when in fact they are just starting out and aren't as good as they think they might be. Many times teens will take friends with them in their cars to hangouts or clubs and the idea of an already inattentive teen to be even more distracted by friends is such a
