Is it bad not telling a person they will get a heart attack? Is it bad not warning anyone about deadly health problems? If so, why are we not doing this with sugary drinks? California’s senate passed a bill requiring labels warning the effects on drinking soda, due to having effects, which could become law. Warning labels should be on soda cans because drinking sugar is worse then eating it in food, and drinking sugary drinks have very harmful effects which can lead to many problems.
Warning labels should be on sugary drinks because the label would warn that consuming sugar in liquid form is very bad. Drinking sugar can lead to damaged organs and body parts. Russ Lloyd, author of Yes, explains,”Well, it can rot your teeth and turn your liver into a grotesque lump of scar tissue.” This is important because rotting your teeth makes it hard to eat with no teeth. Damaging your liver is important because without your liver, your body cannot filter the toxins in what you eat. Russ also explains that,”The body absorbs the sugar in liquids then the sugar is solid food. When you chug down a bottle of soda, you send a truckload of of fructose straight to your liver. Fructose is a sweet type of sugar.” This is important as well because when you send sugar down to your liver, it can cause liver damage and and blood spikes.

SB 203 also explains how,” People who consume the average amount of added sugar, equal to one soda per day, are 30 percent more likely to die from a heart attack.” This has a significant meaning because many will die from drinking
