There are over four million jobs available in the United States. Almost every American at the age of eighteen has started looking for a job or already has one. A career is an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person’s life and with opportunities for progress. It can range from being a manager at a fast food restaurant to a Data Scientist. The choices are endless. Most young adults struggle to choose what career they want to have for the rest of their life and some change their career after a little while. With every career there is always someone who has the knowledge and experience to teach others what needs to be done and how to do it. “Teachers have reasonable hours” (Benefits). A teaching career leaves more time for family, friends and other interest. They only work for about eight hours and sometimes less. Teachers also don’t need an after school babysitter because most schools allow for their children to be dropped off at the school to be in the class with the teachers so they don’t have to worry or go out of their way to get their children (Benefits). Teachers also have almost the same school schedules as their children, when they don’t have school teachers usually don’t have work. There are a few days, such as teacher work days, that don’t allow the parent to be home with their child that day. Teachers also have serious vacation time. They get a couple weeks off for winter vacation, another couple for holidays, winter break and spring break. They also get almost three months off for summer (Benefits). There is also the best job security. Although requirement differs from state to state, once a teacher has established them selves as a good once, they will always find jobs available (Benefits). “And, unlike most industries, layoffs and downsizing are rare occurrences in education”
