Most of these animals will never be able to raise a family or even move around freely. The large numbers of animals forced into one place causes them to unknowingly trample or even attacking the animals around them due to crowdedness, either killing the animals or severely injuring them. The large numbers also create filth which spread around disease and infection, further harming and killing these animals. The animals are pumped with hormones to make them unnaturally grow larger, which often immobilize them and make then unsafe to consume by humans. If they aren’t killing in a few weeks, these farms push the animals so much that their body gives out and their life span is shortened by several years. After they have grown large enough or their bodies have become too weak, they are sent to a slaughterhouse in extreme conditions where they are killed while still being conscious (“Factory Farming: The Industry Behind Meat and Dairy”).
