If you were to see a creature with an eight foot stature, bones sticking out of their chest, bolts and stitches would you think they’re human? Within Gris Grimly’s graphic novel Frankenstein inspired by the 1818 gothic novel The Modern Prometheus authored by Mary Shelley. The reader follows Victor Frankenstein's journey as he grows old seeking revenge on his own creation. Victor is fascinated by the thought of bringing life to an inanimate body and spends years trying to complete his pursuit, once done he regrets everything, he abandons it and the creature seeks revenge. When victor is on the search for the creature he meets him, the creature goes over what happened sense he was abandoned. They start at him waking up confused with no one there, next he goes into the woods where he eats, drinks, and sleeps, after that he remembers where he originally woke up, and he goes back. The people of the town where he was created were disgusted by his horrid image, they threatened him so he left. He then found a family where he watched, and watched but when they really saw him he ran and ran. Gris Grimly depicts the upcoming events with the graphics in volume 2, chapter 6. In these illustrations the creature runs back to the woods where he feels safe, but when is there he sees a beautiful woman dancing along the water, but it all takes a turn for the worst when she falls in and doesn't come back up. He jumps in the water to save her and pulls her unconscious body out, a hunter notices him and thinks he is trying to hurt her. The hunter points his gun to the creature and shoots, the creature is shocked and falls to the ground as the hunter takes the woman away. Following these events, the next morning after a night of rest the creature wakes up perfectly fine, would a human sleep off a gunshot? (Pages 110-112). The creature survived a gunshot to the heart, could a human ever survive that by sleeping it off? The creature can’t just survive a gunshot to the heart
