Imagine you’ve fallen in love with the person of your dreams and you decide you want to get married and start a family the only problem is the love of your life is the same sex as you; with that being the case you aren’t able to have children,the only choice you have is to adopt. Thankfully on March 3rd 2016,the supreme court passed the law for gay couples to adopt children. Mike Thompson illustrates what people feel towards the law being passed in this single frame editorial cartoon. Thompson shows a man with tattoos on his body and a beer in his hand surrounded by six empty cans and garbage. There is a thought bubble with him saying “gay couples adopting? They know that the environment there living in isn’t healthy. The girl looks like she’s used to seeing different men come in and out of the house. The expression she has on her face sets the tone of how you hear what she says, by looking sad and immune to the situation you hear her speaking in a stern depressing voice.
