GMO FOODS What would you do if you had no idea what you were eating, or you had an idea but you just didn’t care? Many people are fighting for their rights for foods with GMOs to be labeled. Americans don’t feel as if they have the right to know as where in other countries its against the law to be making them. Others just want to know if they have any in them but will still eat the foods anyways. Other want to know and if they do have any GMO’s in them they won’t eat those foods. Are you someone who wants to know, or do you not care at all?
Gmo foods are food that have been genetically modified organisms, so yes the foods you eat have GMO’s in them. Most people worry about the foods they’re eating because GMO’s don’t have to been labeled in the United States. In most Countries it’s illegal to not label foods that have been genetically modified. People may just overlook the fact of what they are eating but there are many people who care about our foods and what other our eating. A group called Just Label It are a group of people who come together to make sure parents know what they are feeding their kids, also so they know what they are eating themselves. The group Just Label It found a 1% chance of having GMO’s in their food. Even though the percentage is so low it was a big deal to the non-gmo eaters because they go to Trader Joes to find foods without GMO’s in them. There are also groups who are fighting against labeling foods, they say “we have survived many years without knowing that our foods have GMO’s in them why do we have to scare the people and waste labeling things.” The Non-gmo foundation labels some foods that don’t have GMO’s in them, if you go to the store you can now find cereals that have been labeled and many other house hold items. Even though GMO’s are made out to be super bad do you honestly think you could live without
