Since 2016 of last year more and more people are being found homeless out in the streets and in front of places sleeping out in the cold with very little protection. The last numbers reported by the Kern County Homeless Collaborative's were 1,067 people. The numbers only rise rather than decrease, but they've been steady lately not raising or decreasing. Homeless shelters are getting filled up and they don't get enough supplies to feed or take care of everyone. So, what is it we can do to help and make it easier for the homeless shelters? We can start to donate some of our clothes and canned foods because let's be honest with ourselves, do we really eat them or use them, do we really need all the clothes we have. We need to ask ourselves that, but we can also take in consideration the kids who might be there and take some old toys or stuffed animals for them books, coloring pencils, something for them. …show more content…
Yes, the government supports them in every way and gives them a certain amount of money, but us as people of the community should put in some work as well and help out maybe those aren’t all the homeless people in the community. It isn’t just donating just because, but also give our own love or care towards the people who really need it rather than those who take advantage of it. We wouldn't even have to donate, maybe just even go and help out in those centers where they're at, to help prepare food and serve. The rate of so many homeless people are too high that it's making the homeless shelters kick people out every week to receive new comers to attend. Too many people are left without jobs, families, or left behind causing them to be homeless, so how do we help in this aspect?
