The topic that I will be covering in my researched argument paper is the controversy on human’s, and all life’s, origins on this Earth. Throughout human history, many different ideas about the beginning of life have been presented from countless ideologies. Be it from creationism in some of the most followed religions of today, or less followed ideas, such as the explosion of Xenu’s people kickstarting the human race, none had very much, or any evidence at all. Until very recently in human history, when science and technology began to rapidly advance, these were the only guesses humans had as to how we came into being. Creationism, with its basis on faith and a history of over 2,000 years in religion, has many staunch supporters. Many supporters of creationism have attempted to argue for it with facts, however since it is nearly impossible to prove, many simply cite the Bible and their faith. On the opposing side, evolutionism has gained many supporters due to the overwhelmingly large amount of scientific and experimental evidence that backs it. Personally, I fully support and attempt to understand the complexities of evolutionism, as opposed to the idea of creationism. For my entire life, I grew up almost completely without the influence of religion or any sort of church, avoiding the institutionalization of faith and emotions over logical and critical thinking. Due to this, I can’t find myself subscribing to an idea that relies entirely on the faith of its supporters in their religious text.
