The United States of America is known as the land of freedom and opportunities. It is known for being welcoming to people from different countries no matter their race, color or ethnic group. The first colonist that came to America were in search for religious freedom amongst other issues. However, people tend to forget history and the meaning of what the United States of America stands for. Now that the elections for president are coming up, candidates try to demonstrate that they have the best solutions for illegal immigration issues in order to win and get a seat in the White House. They come from countries all over the world mainly Mexico, Central and South America. Also Europe, Asia and Africa in a lower percent. We can say that illegal immigrants are very important to the U.S. economy and job market. People who enter illegally in the United States come in search for a better living. Therefore will work in any industry for any pay. For this reason our businesses also break the law by hiring illegal immigrants. According to According to a Fiscal Policy Institute analysis of 2000 to 2006 data, there are 374,000 illegal immigrant workers in New York City, which is one of the states with most illegal immigrants. This makes up 10 percent of the resident workforce. With 374,000 out of 535,000 illegal immigrants working in New York City, illegal immigrants have a labor force participation rate of roughly 70 percent. This percentage is higher than the labor force participation rate for native-born residents, 60 percent, or for overall foreign-born residents, 64 percent, in New York City.
