Illegal Street Racing Illegal street racing around the community of Denver has been a hobby for many car fanatics and keeps increasing rapidly in public streets. Street racers might not see it as a crime, but others do, this crime has not only been getting drivers in trouble but, has also caused many innocent people their lives. This should change the city itself should provide higher standards with illegal street racing. To being the city should provide more public race tracks at a reasonable price or have special events. This is a really big issue because in the state of Colorado legal race tracks are far from town and charge crazy prices just for one day but, yet they are only open during the summer. Not having tracks are causing many illegal street racing because they have nowhere else to do it besides public streets. The city should provide supervised events away from public streets where racers could race. Other wise racing in public streets will keep on being a excuse of illegal street racing. …show more content…

Police officers should also have the right to take possession of the owner's vehicle and impound it or either have them crushed. They should organize a good team to takedown the racers and show them that the city is prepared for the take down. This will warn the racers to not come back to the location. Since the police really have not done much about it, racers think it is okay and they will continue to race and also take away lives. As Trooper Nate Reid said “in the summer months, we do have to increase in this activity”. Police should be out more patrolling any public street and highways etc. Every seasons should be highly patrolled at all times. Having more police patrolling will decrease racing in public
