In Hip-Hop, there is a lot of debate over who is the G.O.A.T. of the genre of the game. To wear that title you have to fall into a few categories, those being lyricism, originality, storytelling, cultural impact and commercial success. One artist who has been argued to be the G.O.A.T. Hip-Hop is Kendrick Lamar. He fits into all 5 categories exceptionally, making waves through his exemplary bodies of work and has achieved critical acclaim and success for his work. Therefore, I believe that Kendrick Lamar is the greatest rapper of all time. In 2012, Kendrick Lamar released his second studio album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. city. The city of the city. It was met with critical praise and deemed Kendrick a new king of Hip-Hop. In addition to this album, he has released three more, those being the critical successes ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ (2015), ‘DAMN.’ (2017) and ‘Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers’ (2022). According to Touring Data, Kendrick Lamar's ‘The Big Steppers Tour’ is now the highest-grossing tour in Hip-Hop history, which “has earned $110.9 million in revenue from 929,000 tickets sold across 73 shows.” …show more content…

Kendrick Lamar was the first rapper to ever win the Pulitzer Prize, which is named as one of journalism’s most prestigious awards. He also has the most Hip-Hop awards in BET history with 29 wins. He has taken home 17 Grammys out of his 50 nominations, 11 MTV Video Music awards and a Primetime Emmy
