Marijuana (also known as cannabis) is a plant that has been known for pain relief, and is being used in modern medicine. Six states have completely legalized marijuana, two states plus D.C. have legalized but don’t allow sale. “The Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) believes marijuana should be removed from the criminal justice system and regulated like alcohol and tobacco” (DPA 1). Twenty-nine states in America allow medical use of cannabis. Pot should be legalized in all fifty states because it creates more jobs, it is used to make medicine, and it relieves chronic pain, nausea, etc. Cannabis creates more jobs in the United States. Numerous states in the U.S. have permits that use strains of cannabis in epidemic patients. Studies prove that it relieves symptoms of HIV/AIDS, cancer, glaucoma, and sclerosis. Cannabis when smoked relaxes your muscles, which makes patients feel relief. The consumption of cannabinoids relieves pain, controls seizures, helps Parkinson’s disease, and can help stop cancer from spreading. Marijuana releases Tetrahydrocannabinol (or THC), which gives the person “a high feeling”, it contains pain-relieving properties. An example of which THC from pot helps people is when HIV spreads it damages your intestines and cells, but in THC from marijuana it rebuilds cells, making cannabis an effective drug. By the use of Marijuana, many Americans that suffer from chronic pain has a safe, affordable, and natural form of medication. Pot legalization in the U.S would create more jobs, be used in effective medications, and relieve chronic pain found in most Americans. Not all cannabis has THC some have CBD, which is an abbreviation for cannabinol. CBD has anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory properties without the “euphoric” feeling from THC. Legalization of marijuana has already taken over parts of the United States, why not have pot regulated and monitored instead of illegal. There are proven facts that alcohol kills more people then Marijuana
