The debate about legalizing marijuana has always been a lively debate exists, and has become controversial topics in the United States for decades. Although smoking and using marijuana were widespread in many parts of the world for thousands of years, but the debate about the advantages and disadvantages of it does not seem to the end. The two media sources that have become involved in this debate through different types of media biases for example: selection of sources, story selection, placement, labeling, and spin, so as to present opposite political perspectives through the two articles: “Legal Marijuana is the fastest-growing industry in the U.S” and “Carly Fiorina says ‘no’ to marijuana, but respects state rights.” …show more content…

As mention on the title of the article, the author mostly talks about how fast the marijuana have grown throughout the article. We can clearly see how this feature reflects with the headline of this article. Saying cannabis in the top spot compared with other fast-growing industries is how he want to support his article. “The report projects a marijuana industry that could be more valuable than the entire organic food industry -- that is if the legalization trend continues to the point that all 50 states legalize recreational marijuana.” By comparing the marijuana industry to the entire food industry, Matt implied his liberal view about marijuana that he even compares it with organic food. "In the last year, the rise of the cannabis industry went from an interesting cocktail conversation to being taken seriously as the fastest growing industry in America." Once again, we can see how important Matt consider marijuana is the fastest growing industry here, the statement strongly supports his placement of legalizing marijuana all over the United
