Providence Canyon, also known as the official “Little Grand Canyon”, is one of Georgia’s seven wonders. Being a wonder means being explored. As for Providence Canyon, it is explored mostly by Georgians. This being because it is considered a state park and not a national park. The government has decided that Providence Canyon shall remain a state park but are still being questioned why it has not become a national park that people from the entire country can come and see. It has many benefits and very much could use extra funding to make it even more enjoyable but yet unforgettable. It provides tourism that does well for the Canyon and its visitors, it is an education but fun experience for not just children but for adults as well, and it opens people’s mind to new and more types of wildlife that they may have never seen before. It allows the park to make more money, it allows hiking which can be good for exercise, and it’s many tourists a year makes it more popular which can continue its journey to become a national park. Since the park isn’t a national park, it does not receive national funding, it receives state funding. Since state funding is not a lot, the Canyon mostly relies on the money that it makes off of how many people visit the park. The hiking that can be done at the Canyon can be a good thing for everyone. It can be good for the hikes health and to the gear that the hiker needed, they most likely bought it so that makes money for that company, and it means one more person that knows about the park, which could help make Providence Canyon a national
