Mascara has been an eye-enhancing makeup product that dates back to the early 1900’s. This eye-enhancing product is made for humans and with intentions to be worn by humans. Just like many products, mascara, must undergo a series of tests before human use. Unfortunately, rabbits are seen as the best candidates to undergo cosmetic mascara safety testing before human use. The cosmetic experiments rabbits endure, in an effort to create safe mascara for humans, have many side effects and long lasting negative health effects on the rabbit’s. Testing mascara on rabbits is a form of animal cruelty and is morally wrong. The pain rabbits endure throughout the experimental process is not worth the benefit of creating mascara.
