Media bias is used to misinform and mislead citizens, breaking the critical link in a democracy. Binary bias, such as labeling between conservative and liberal groups reinforces a selective preferences upon other citizens. For example, if two or more books are ordered together on Amazon, the system notes the two books that have been ordered together; so when someone else looks at anyone one of those books the system recommends other books along with that book. The relationship between these books results in a extremely partisan audience. The deeper long term thread in media bias is how it destroys the belief in open, honest and informed discourse. What the media wants is for everyone to treat the election likes it’s American Idol where voters pick candidates based on how attractive they are or how much star appeal they can bring. The media knows that if they ever actually talked about real issues no one would vote Republican and that terrifies the people who run the media. The executives, the board members of these corporations, the advertisers they are all multi-millionaires who don’t wanna see their taxes go up, they don't want to see their media empires regulated. So instead of giving us news they give us infotainment and gossip and even when they do cover candidates who care about the issues like Bernie Sanders for example, they try to marginalize them. American voters desire better than this, they deserve a rich conversation about where this country is heading and about which candidate is best equipped to put America, and move America in the right direction. We are not going to get that conversation out of the media because the corporate media cares more about protecting it’s interest than about telling citizens what is really going
