Annually the world consumes more than 11 billion tons of fossil fuels reserves of oil are disappearing four billion tons annually it is predicted that oil reserves will dry up around the year 2052 and coal deposits may follow suit around 2088. Non-renewable energy sources such as coal, crude oil, and natural gas are burned releasing harmful chemicals into the atmosphere to create electricity. The burning of these resources causes health problems and global warming and dependence on these finite resources will lead to disaster. The government should do more to end the reliance on non-renewable energy sources because it causes global warming damages our health and its resources are limited.

Due to the increased global temperature, the ice caps in the north are melting at an alarming rate causing the sea levels to rise, another factor in the sea level rise is the expansion of water molecules, when molecules are heated they expand causing them to be larger than usual; over the last century the global sea level has risen 10 to 20 centimeters because of this. Analysts have said that a half degree increase in the surface temperature of the sea is associated with an increase of 40% hurricane frequency, this is because the difference in air temperature is so great, warm and cold air diffuse into each other producing high winds that pick up over the ocean and create strong hurricanes. This is becoming more and more common in the world, an example of this is the multiple hurricanes that hit the united states in September, the intensity and frequency of these hurricanes in a short period of time is unusual and can be linked to global warming. The country Tuvalu is experiencing******* god's great flood****** and they are sinking faster than any other country in the world, soon cities like Saint John's and Victoria and provinces like Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia will be submerged in water if we don't clean up our act.
