Imagine somebody telling you that you’re not allowed to earn money right now and instead tell you that you have to wait a year or go to college for a minimum of one year instead of heading to the NBA to make money and play the game you love. The NBA has a rule in place commonly known as the “one and done rule” , this rule forces star high school basketball player’s to go to college for at least one year or play overseas for a professional team instead of enter the NBA draft right away out of high school and earn money and play professional basketball. The NBA needs to get rid of the one and done rule which does not allow high school basketball player’s to enter the NBA draft and become a professional basketball player, but instead have to play at least one year in college and then enter into the NBA draft. …show more content…

College teams are now recruiting based on if that player decides to enter the NBA draft after the college season or stay for more than one year. This rule also ruins the March Madness Tournament because viewers are only seeing these great players but only for one year in college and then moving on instead. You could see these great young players develop and become stars in the NBA like Lebron James or Kobe Bryant, which they both came straight out of high school and into the NBA and have become legendary players. The average views of the NCAA championship 10 years prior to the one and done rule is 27.1981 million views, and ten years after the one and done rule (which was put into effect in 2005), had an average of 23.5904 million views, this is a 3.6077 million view difference from before the one and done rule and after the one and done rule was set in place.
