Poaching: Illegal Hunting When you think of environmental problem do you ever think of poaching? Or do you only think of pollution or global warming. Well news check poaching of wild animals is a really big one too. Poaching has been a really big problem for a very long time and even if it's illegal the crime just never stops and it probably will continue making animals extinct. Poaching is a really really big issue around the world but the 2 most targeted continents is Africa and Asia. The most common reason that animals go extinct is because of poaching. So instead they would use a tranquilizer or any other device that can make an animal fall asleep or harm it. We know that this animals protect are world and actually matter but we still decide to hurt them and make they extinct. WWF has tried to stop poaching for the past 50 years. They have been trying to stop this horrible thing. Do you guys really want animals to be extinct? Poaching puts tigers, rhinos, elephants, gorillas and other species in great risk of becoming extinct. Even though it's a crime you still continue to do it. Rhinos are the most targeted animals because they are really prized in Asian medicine. This old image of a man with a rifle next to a dead animal is nothing this days, it's become lot worse. Poaching is usually by highly secretive networks they use equipment like helicopters, night-vision equipment, tranquilisers and silencers. They usually kill animals at nice so they can avoid law enforcements and patrols. Why do we still continue to do this? The problem is that poaching isn’t really a political problem just kind of a global problem. “The value of a rhino horn in illegal trade is probably 100 times the average earnings of a villager living next to them,” explains Christy Williams who leads the work on Asian elephants and rhinos. “It makes poaching a coveted money-making opportunity.” WWF is trying to tackle poachers and stop this crazy thing.
