There are many prescription drugs being used by many all over the world, these prescriptions might be life- saving medication to many but when is the point where you’ve gone too far with the medication? Antipsychotic drugs are being used on children and adolescents that doctors say the patients need, but the prescription medication being used has side effects that scientist don’t even understand even with all the studies they’ve conducted. Imagine a young child maybe 4 or 5 years old taking very powerful medication that causes the child to develop a condition in the blood, instead of the medication helping the child it just causes another life threatening problem that would cause the child to receive more treatment for something the medication caused. This topic is very controversial because doctors say that if they eliminate these strong medications there resources will be cut short in helping children and adolescents deal with the problems they are facing but on the other hand there are more, less harsh, medications that will help …show more content…
There are many other sources that can be put in use I helping a person’s condition improve. Many people resort to therapy to solve their problems, there isn’t just therapy for that one individual there is also group or family therapy that can be of great use to the patient. Therapy gives the person the chance to open up and be heard not only by the psychiatrist but also by other friends or family members. This alternative is positive because the people that suffer from psychiatric conditions usually feel alone and isolated form everyone else so it’s a positive experience that they could tremendously gain from.
