Individual Learning Plan Sheila Morgan Walden University EDU-66100 Fall 2016-2017 Abstract The purpose of this paper is to evaluate my personal beliefs as an educator based upon the NBPTS core propositions and RWRCOEL Dispositions in Diversity, Technology and Professionalism. Provide examples of how I have demonstrated areas of high performance, and provide steps in which to work towards proficiency in areas I deem deficient or in need of improvement. As an educator the need for continuous self-reflection is essential to growing as a professional.
Competitive cheerleading has never been called a sport. There has been an ongoing debate as to if cheerleading fits the definition of a sport which is “an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature” (Dictionary.com n.d.). By that definition you could interpret it to mean cheerleading is a sport, but there is much more to being a sport than meeting a definition. Competitive cheerleading does require specialized training, extensive practices, and a dedicated team; but to become a sport there are several problems that must be addressed. There is not a consistent set of competitions, no standard set of rules, and no regulations for judging.
Roller hockey and floor hockey are also really popular in the summer and spring. There are many leagues for hockey, in the winter there are numerous leagues with various levels based on your skill. Coaches are good at advancing players to the next level, coaches have usually played the game themselves so they can provide players with a lot of hockey knowledge to make them better players. Being on a team of any type is special but being on a hockey team is even better. Being on a hockey team is very special
I have never had a job with a paycheck, but that hasn’t stopped me from developing my philosophy of work. My experiences at school, home, and most of all, at roller derby have given me a chance to build my philosophy. In my experience, I have learned about my motivations, working through the grind of training, and the satisfaction of a task well-done. I’ve found that the best motivation to work is to turn it into a passion. My passion for roller derby has driven me to become one of the fastest and strongest skaters on my team.
Persuasive techniques, such as Ethos, Pathos, and Logos, are exceptional tools for authors to use to strengthen and support their argumentative claims. In the articles “Position on Dodgeball in Physical Education,” by The National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE), and “The Weak Shall Inherit the Gym,” by Rick Reilly, both authors focus on using persuasive techniques to make claims about the relevance of dodgeball in physical education. Throughout the article “Position on Dodgeball in Physical Education”, the NASPE uses both Ethos and Logos to support their claims that dodgeball is not fit for physical education programs in schools. To begin, when outlining the basis of the article, the text states, “NASPE (National Association
Is Dance A Sport? How much longer will the controversy of dance continue? Some people agree that it is a sport and others disagree. Most people who disagree about dance being a sport do not know enough about it.
There’s no way to make hockey “safe.” There will always be injuries in hockey. There will always be concussions in hockey. There will always be violence. There is no way to eliminate contact from a contact sport.
Rough Draft Cross country is probably the simplest sport anyone will ever play. All they need is a pair of sneakers and a water bottle. The team runs together, but also as individuals. Cross country is great because even though it is hard, it will help make runners stronger and better at other sports they play.
Why Hockey is the best sport to watch. Hockey is obviously the best sport to watch. While other sports are fun to watch, they can not compete with hockey. Hockey is so intense, the speed of the game keeps you on your seat, the traditions and superstitions, the playoffs, all of it makes it the best sport to watch. Hockey is a very intense game.
Admissions Essay 2 Figure skating plays an important role in shaping my character and building skills for the future. Being able to perform gravity-defying jumps and spins on a thin blade requires more than just talent—it involves dedication and perseverance when in the face of adversity. As an athlete, I interpreted the saying “practice makes perfect” as pushing past my limits and training for several hours. Unfortunately, I ended up injured because I was pushing myself too hard and not resting. Two summers ago, I had suffered a back and knee injury that were major setbacks to my progress.

Cross Country Cross country is one of my favorite sports to do. Cross country can be an individual or team sport. That means that if you are the only one running for your team then you are just running for your own good. If you are fortunate enough to have a team of five, then you are each running to gain points for your team. The better that you do in your race, the less points you will gain.
GO TEAM GO Were you able to play the sport you trained during school? If not, you are like me, I do gymnastics as my weekly sport and there are many reasons why schools should have a gymnastics team. Some reasons include gymnasts want to be able to join a team,itś fantastic for anybody´s future, and the sport is good for more than just gymnasts. My first reason is that gymnasts want to be able to join a team.
Even though street racing is dangerous, street racing should be legal, less deaths would occur when on a designated road while fewer people would be scared to drive in the city. Since the day the automobile was invented, people have had the urge to go fast. People have always wanted to be better when they compete with each other. They want to show that they are the fastest and nobody could beat them.
