Romeo and Juliet Persuasive Essay The story of Romeo and Juliet captures the tragedy of two young star crossed, so called lovers based in Verona, Italy. The two of them were simply a couple of kids at opposite odds that had fallen in lust with each other, and acted against their families wishes to try and create this perfect reality between two strangers. Romeo and Juliet were simply two confused teenagers who just met, and are full of hormones that can not decide what they actually want. The first reason Romeo and Juliet are not in love is the aspect of only having known each other for five days. Most if not all people in happy, long term relationships will tell you it is better to know someone well before immersing yourself into a relationship. In Scene 3, Romeo speaks to Friar Lawrence about his banishment and states, “Ha, banishment! be merciful, say 'death;' For exile hath more terror in his look, Much more than death: do not say 'banishment’.” (3.3.12-14) from this excerpt, Romeo describes his banishment from Verona as worse than death. He says this as he can not see Juliet while he is away in Mantua, and claims death sounds more appealing than to not see her while he is banished. Later on after witnessing Romeo dead by her side, she herself brings an end to her own life saying, “O, happy dagger, This is thy sheath. There rest, and let me die.” (5.3.174-175) In this line, Juliet is displayed stabbing herself with a blade in response to Romeo’s recent death. Any person with common sense would know to avoid killing themselves for any reason, but especially because of an apparent partnered suicide due to the equally recent death of “the love of your life.” Romeo and Juliet alike both dreamt of overbearing life long intentions with each other and were willing enough for each other to take their
