Brooke Morgan and Clare Hamelton of Walla Walla, Washington, have been best friends ever since 4th grade. Clare and Morgan’s nightmares started on a chilly September morning when they were walking to the first day of school as juniors in high school. As they were going to school they encountered an attractive male, with shady blond hair, and piercing blue eyes, he looked to be in his early twenties. When the man said hello to the two girls, they buzzed with joy and replied with two enthusiastic “hellos”. He introduced himself as Jason and explained that he was taking a morning walk before his first class started at Whitman University, and went on to flirt with Brooke and Clare. Sex trafficking includes sex trafficking, prostitution, and pornography. Women and girls are the majority of sexual victims they are commonly lured in by false promises of modeling or dancing, or they become romantically involved with the trafficker (“Human”). The average age that a girl enters the industry is between 12 and 14 years old. If the victim of the trafficker is enticed by the hopes of being a model or dancer, the trafficker will transport them to the location with fraud passports and visas, and advise them to avoid detection. Once the victim arrives at the location, he/she has confronted that it was a false promise, and is moved to a new location where they will be threatened by violence if they do anything awry. If the victim becomes romantically involved with the trafficker, they may smoothly transition them into a victim of sex trafficking by asking them for favors (“Human”). These favors involve the woman or child to have sex with another man or woman, which then transitions to the woman having sex multiple times per day with different men or women. Men that rape these victims are occasionally from a ring, and they have some type of symbol that identifies that they are a member of that ring. When members of the ring have sex with a victim, they will sometimes tattoo them to let future rapists know they were once their property.
