Increased speed limits have threatened many lives in Saudi Arabia, as well as the rest of the world. According to, to the latest reports on accidents, in KSA, there is a traffic accident every minute, totalling to 7,000 death and 39,000 injuries annually. This problem has caused much pain for many families and is a financial burden on anyone who has been in an accident or has been affected by the accident. Speed limits have been placed but have not been enforced in a strict manner throughout KSA. The speed limit for cars ranges from 80-120 km/h but this rule hasn’t been enforced until around a year and a half ago, a system called “saher” has been placed to ensure that all citizens drive under the speed limit yet, this system has been met with much hatred, as citizens in anger destroy the camera and speed away, despite the decrease in the number of death after the installation of this system, the death rate from car accidents is still quite high, what we need is a decrease in the speed limit even more, this will cause people to slow down and that will also decrease the probability and the risk of a car accidents. Decreasing speed limit has helped many countries, decrease the number of deaths and accident annually. When two cars collide it is important to understand that the collision is inelastic and so kinetic energy is released, as both heat and sound.
