Michelle Rempel, I represent the member of the conservative party, who serves as the minister state of Alberta, in November 20,2015, I was appointed for the Official Opposition Critic for Immigration, refugees and Citizenship. So today, I am going to share how the role of the Syrian refugees play in the province of Alberta. Alberta is a province with a suitable landscape for people to live, with good agriculture, nice natural resources. Which causes a large number of people who want to be a citizen in Canada choose to stay here, even refugees from Syria. Especially around the 1970s, which is a good economic time in Canada, the number of refugees suddenly increase large amount of people coming to Canada. Right now, the population is still increasing 10% of each year. I know that saving Syrian refugees is a serious, humanitarian issue, and I am very glad to assist these Syrian refugees. However, in my own personal opinion, the main importance is not about the government focusing on numbers of refugees (which I strongly against), and using money as a metric on success. For me, it is more necessary to look through the future, having a successful, solid plan, base on looking for different aspects such as how many people have found in employment, school capacity, markets then to decide on the number of …show more content…

The real record after seven months is that the minister's officials could not tell us how many refugees were unemployed or how many were using food banks. In addition, in 2015, in clearly shows that only half of the adults from Syria who came to Canada had employments. There are 35,000 in total arrived to Canada, total 18000 Syrian adults, but only half number of adults (9,000) owned
