What do you think when you hear the word Syria in today's world? To many people, war, terrorism, and weapons may come to mind and not without reason. For a little over seven years, Syria has been going through a multi-faceted crisis that has destroyed many cities and caused millions of Syrians to flee and be killed. As of now, Syria is trying to repair itself with the help of the United States. However, this calls to question what the United States’ stance should be in the finals steps of this war. Should we intervene and try to end the violence quicker, or only help with repairs and damages, or should we do nothing at all? This is a big question that our country is grappling with today.

The conflict between the Shiite fighters and the Sunni rebel groups is creating friction a little mini-war between opposing sides. Extreme acts of violence have been used like bombings and capturing people of opposite sides and killing them on a video. Also, Russia and Iran want President Bashar al-Assad to remain in office while the US does not. This is creating conflict even though both sides are working to defeat ISIS separately. And this is not all, The Kurds, a community that resides in an area where Syria, Iraq, Iran, Armenia, and Turkey connect and are united through race, culture, and language, are fighting ISIS to keep their land and stop the violence, Turkey is fighting ISIS as well and The Kurds and Turkey are fighting each other. The Kurds and Turkey have been fighting since the 1920’s because The Kurds have been receiving brutal treatment from Turkey for generations and Turkey prohibited them from entering their
