Cellphones are now more complexed than they were years ago; in other words, it is easy to send a text messages now than just pressing numbers repeatedly to spell out words, which took time to do. Because of the simple usage of texting, drivers think that they can send a quick text or even make a call while driving and not fear the consequences behind it. Therefore, drivers that become distracted by their cellular device while driving can really harm somebody or even worse, kill somebody. Drivers who are caught using their cellular device not only should get a ticket but lose their license as well.

I think that drivers, who lose their licenses to texting and driving, shouldn’t get their driver’s license back until the next year of the exact date they lost it on. Subsequently, this will bring down the rate of drivers who use their cellular device while driving and have their focus on the road. Some people, especially young adults who drive to go work and school, losing their driver licenses will prevent them from doing any of those things.
Furthermore, it is natural to come across a phone call while driving whether it’s from a job or from a friend, drivers should never try to answer the call. To demonstrate, a cell phone is stuck in a person pocket and they’re trying to pull it out to answer a call; however, doing so the driver loses control of the vehicle by trying to wrestle the phone out of their pocket. Moreover, cellphones can become a safety hazard when used behind the wheel; however, cell companies should create an app for their customers that will disable their cell signal when their vehicle is in motion.
