If someone’s life could be saved through the power of medicine, should it be done? Medicine in general has come so far over the years, it can literally save a life before a person even develops the disease. Children may not realize the full repercussions and possible consequences of communicable illnesses, so it is up to the parents to make sure children are vaccinated. Some parents believe that they are protecting their child by not vaccinating them, but statistics show just how wrong that belief actually is. Also, educating parents on all things vaccinations would aid to the solution of this problem. Prevention from something as awful and threatening as a disease should be everyone’s top priority. In most cases, many people fail to realize that vaccinations actually protect their child and others from harmful diseases, that is one of the main reasons why all children need them. By not vaccinating a child there is a very real and serious chance that it could cause harm by exposing them to numerous diseases. Unfortunately, I personally knew someone who died of something as common as the flu and it was such a tragic death. Vaccines can prevent any of that from happening and that is the best part about it. According to Author Sue J. Goldie, if more girls would be able to become vaccinated it could possibly save 4,000,000 lives within the next 10 years. Nearly 500,000 women form cervical cancer each year which can be completely preventable with a vaccine.
