Remember when zoos used to be a lot more fun? Have you ever thought of the fact that the animals are being abused ? "Zoo complicated"written by Kathryn Hulick and "Zoos fighting to save Endangered species"by Cristine Graf the argument on whether wildlife should stay wild is explored. Based on the environment animals are not getting the health they need. As humans we have fun at zoos seeing all the excitement happen but, the animals don't.
INTRODUCTION Malattia Leventinese (ML), is genetically homogeneous macular dystrophy with an autosomal dominant mode of inheritance.1 ML is a rare macular disease characterized by the presence of amorphous sub-retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) deposits known as drusen between the RPE and Bruch’s membrane. Drusen forming a mosaic pattern named Doyne honeycomb retinal dystrophy.2 The importance of this disease is due in large part to the presence of drusen, a feature shared with age related macular degeneration (AMD). AMD is a heterogeneous late onset macular degenerative condition, accounting the most common cause of irreversible vision loss in the developed world. However, unlike AMD, drusen form at a much earlier age in ML.
In my opinion, Robert Laidlaw presented a more logical argument in his article “Zoos: Myth and Reality”. To start off with, I think animals are not getting the proper care they need to help them survive. According to Laidlaw, he states, “But most zoos fail to live up to their own propaganda and vast numbers of zoo animals continue to endure the lives of misery and deprivation.” Second of all, I think animals are suffering from captivity. In the text it says, “But there is one issue in which there seems to be widespread agreement-- at least in principle.
I think that zoos are bad for animals. I think they are bad for many reasons. Some animals can get very harmed, or even die. Zoos aren’t the best place for animals. Animals can get Zoochosis, they can get poached, and they don’t get enough exercise.
There should not be zoos. Thousand of animals every year struggle with the same problem, being locked up. Although this may seem like a questionable argument, this is a major problem in this world and it needs to be fixed now. In this essay there should not be zoos because they make animals unhealthy, they treat animals badly, and animals are better off in the wild.
Zoos have always been something that families love and kids look forward to going to. Kids learn about the animals and the habitats and enjoy the entertainment. It is a great experience for people, but not for the animals. Zoos are downright cruel to Animals. Animals our forced to live in an unreal stressful, and boring conditions.
“The animals of this world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for whites” - Alice Walker. Some of the animals that you see in zoos are not always born in captivity. They can be taken right out of the wild as well. Although zoos are fun to visit, animals should not be held in captivity because the breed can become overpopulated, they do not know how to survive on their own, and they are being abused.
Zoos Should Be Banned Imagine you are five years old, someone breaks into your home, kills your aunt and possibly your older brother in the process of kidnapping you. You are separated from your loved ones, leaving your mother in severe pain and grief. You are taken somewhere unknown, imprisoned in a cell where people come watch you for their own entertainment.
This argument is split into three main viewpoints, the opinion that zoos harm animals, the opinion that zoos save endangered species, and a mix between the two. Viewpoint number three is more of a critique how zoos are good places where bad things happen and should be reformed. Each option has its own individual pros and cons but a reform of zoos and their standards would be the most economical for zoos and aquariums and this method would also be the least harmful and less stressful for the animals involved. The care and wellbeing of the animals involved should be the number one priority of all groups and by cutting back on over breeding, the phasing out of lager animals that naturally roam large distances, and creating environments that’s sole purpose is to educate people, zoos can become a better place for people and animals
Ninety percent of animals in accredited facilities were born in zoos, not taken from the wild. Wildlife should not stay wild because they reproducing, living longer and have very realistic and better habitats. Although some will argue that animals should stay wild, zoos help protect them and educate the public. Zoos help animals live longer than they do in the wild and reproduce consistently.
The sayings that, animals are like humans, because they also have rights in this world; to live and to be loved. Animals are taken care of by the professionals in zoos. Nowadays, as we visited zoos, there are some that it's pleasuring to the eyes but some of them were not. It was destroyed by the people. The animals were not healthy and some of them were dying.
But that is not the actual purpose of the zoo and it is rare to see those types of zoos. All in all, with the continuing global threats to the atmosphere it is hard for individuals to visualize zoos as something apart from being essential to the long-term survival of various species. Not just in terms of protecting them and breeding them for reintroduction, but to learn regarding them to assist those still within the wild, as well as to educate and inform the general public about these animals and their world: to pique their interest so they will assist or at least accept the necessity to be more environmentally aware. Sure there are many possibilities for improvement, but these benefits are essential to several species and potentially at least. Without zoos, the world would be a much poorer place.
In 1874, the first zoo opened; however, since then there has been a lot of controversy around zoos. With over 10,000 zoos worldwide, the biggest issue people are seeing is that zoos are capturing innocent animals and putting them in small areas. In reverse, others believe that zoos are great for educational purposes. Zoos are extremely miserable for animals and they should be banned. Zoos are highly unsafe for animals.
One reason why Zoos should be banned is It can cause animal cruelty. For example, in the article Choice time “Zoo animals can't go where they please or eat when they please” This shows that the zookeeper is in charge of that animal and depends whether or not they deserved it on that day. Another example is Animals
Zoos are an unsuitable environment for wild animals and should be abolished. A zoo cannot provide the perfect environment for every type of animal. Also, one of the biggest reasons zoos exist is not for helping animals in danger, but in fact breeding them for human enjoyment. Starting thousands of years ago, zoos attracted large crowds around the world. Because of that, everyone today has seen, been to, or heard of a zoo at least once in their lifetime.
