Golf has always been popular around the world. Since 1457, people around the world have been swinging, putting, and having a good time playing golf. Originally, it was a gentleman's game but it soon became a sport for both men and women. Not only has golf been included in 3 olympics, but there are tournaments around the world that many people attend. Many of these tournaments offer extraordinary rewards for winning. As I said above, it requires more than the ability to swing a club to play golf. You must possess strength, hand eye coordination, and skill. Just because you can still play even when you are hurt, doesn’t mean it is not a sport. In sports such as soccer and football, you don’t have to have special muscle use. You can just run around however you feel. If you do not use coordinated muscle use in golf, you could screw up and even injure yourself when it comes to worst case scenario. However, golf has some flaws on why it is not a sport. Golf does not require lots of physical activity, and you do not have to be athletic to be able to play golf. Sports experts also state that golf lacks the vigorous activity to be considered a sport. There is a counterargument to this though. Along with sports such as football and basketball, golfers need to possess skill to be able to play the game of golf. Overall, golf has its pros and cons. It may not possess the most important skills and options needed to be considered a sport, but it has most of the requirements.
