Today I send you this letter as to why the 2017-2018 Idaho DECA State Officers should be allowed to attend the Western Region Leadership Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. This conference is, November 16th through November 19th, 2017. The conference is intended for DECA students and advisors all throughout the Western Region. According to deca.org and past attendees, students have the ability to network with other members and businesses, attend workshops, and even have the chance to compete in some competitive events. The reason we as state officers would like to attend this conference is solely for the purpose of bettering our members. Many state officers from DECA and other student organizations travel all throughout the country, attending conferences where they can better their program. Unfortunately, Idaho has not always had the opportunity to do that. This has limited the lack of potential improvement for our state officers and all of our members. By going to WRLC this November, we as state officers will be given more training than that past officers have not been able to have. …show more content…
Last year, I was the Central Region Vice President and this year I am lucky enough to be the State President. These past two years have been life changing, but the only complaint I have ever had was not being able to attend more conferences. Since I have been a state officer, I was able to go to two ICDC’s and meet other officers from throughout the organization. Those experiences were hands down the best I have had. While meeting these people, I learned more about how they ran their state programs and was able to bring those ideas to our state. By going to WRLC, I will be able to meet more officers and expand more on our very own
