As the European Championship 2016, Europe’s biggest football tournament is underway and we couldn’t be anymore excited. A strong contingent of 50,000 – 80,000 Irish supporters are heading for the shores of France to cheer on our boys in green. The flights are booked and the hotel rooms are sorted and all that remains is just saving every cent so you can have a ball (pun rightfully intended). Some, like myself, will be jumping on the bandwagon and others will have been lifelong supporters of the team.
Now, I can hear you asking what a football tournament has to do with looking to change career? Well for those of you who are travelling to France on June 10th or even those taking a well earned break, you may have a particular interest.

As you know, a holiday doesn’t last forever and we all have to face the reality of going back home and back to our jobs, which in itself can be depressing enough. This can be a low point for most of us as the familiar dread descends. This is commonly known as “the post holiday blues” …show more content…

The same 9-5 routine and the same daily commute too and from the house. You can’t be blamed for getting a little comfortable. Why bother with the stress of looking for a new job, working with new people and a new environment? But you have to honestly ask yourself are you really happy with your job? And this is when coming back from a holiday such as the Euros in France or any holiday for that matter will answer that question.

There are many reasons to stay in your current job but there are also just as many reasons to leave. Salary tends to top the list for an excuse to stay. If you’re earning a good salary you might be reluctant to walk away from the money out of fear. But if you wake up bored of your job then perhaps this is a sign something needs to change. Also, if you find your skills and responsibilities are not being challenged, then finding a role that does this may be precisely what you
