Introduction Attention getter- bicyclists, are they allowed to ride in the streets or on the sidewalk? According to the Findlaw website in California copyright 2016, anyone over the age of thirteen is not not allowed to bike on sidewalks. Cycling in the streets has its own rules too, for example you have to wear a helmet, always have one hand on the handlebars, and follow traffic laws. What if I told you that I have a solution to this problem, bike lanes. I know that there are already bike lanes in America, but there are only a few in a few rare places. Even though you may look at yourself and see a small person if no say in what goes on in this world, I can assure you that we can all do something. We can start with the basics and rally up a petition. The petition doesn't have to be fancy, but at least it will get a much larger audience thinking about this topic. Without bike lanes, you can start biking to more places and bike more in general. When you do bike, take into consideration other people, so it's probably not always the best idea to decide to listen to music. Bike lanes are common around colleges, like I said earlier, so let's start using them and start saving your bank account and the ecosystem at the same time. To conclude my speech, let's quickly review what I just talked about. We were first able to look into what is currently going on with bike lanes. Secondly, I talked about why you should care about bike lanes, and lastly what we can do to help gain more bike lanes. Without bike lanes, there is just too much confusion and safety issues regarding where bicyclists are to ride their bikes.
