Today I’ll be addressing the argument between changing to a four-day school week from a five-day school week. In my own hoenest opinion I would rather change and have a four day school week. This is because I believe I do better in school when we have that extra day off. I am well rested and feel less stressed because I have more than enough time to get my work done. But I know that there are some cons to having a four day school week. People may argue that what will the parents of the younger children do for the day off. I tried to change this con into a positive and thought about how since the whole school gets the day off why don’t you ask and have a high schooler watch your children. But nun the less people still might argue about how it cost money. I know that this will be a problem for some families, but I believe we can come up with a solution. At Georgia State University they conducted a study on a four-day school week versus a five-day school week. They compared fourth grade reading and fifth grade math. When they were done testing their findings showed improvements in math from the four-day week and reading stayed the same. Their study has shown that changing to a four-day school week doesn’t compromise students academic achievement. There is always going to be arguments on whether something should be done or whether it should not. You are never going to make everyone happy. But I believe that everyone deserves a chance to plead their case about their beliefs on the
