The talk about legalizing marijuana has been going on since the 1600. It has taken nearly almost four hundred years for only twenty-three states to even legalize the use of cannabis. I’m just trying to figure out why it took so long for marijuana to even be legalize in the United States. Is it because that back then they thought cannabis was poison even though it was beneficial to our health. Maybe it’s because it’s a gateway drug. Or that big Major Corporation and politician are afraid that they couldn’t tax medical marijuana and make big profit off the drug. About around the 1850s pharmacies were using and selling marijuana. Let’s talk about free-will. Free-will is to have the ability to act one’s own discretion right to make your decision. Nobody is forcing you to do something that you don’t want to do. If you knew what the consequence were and you part take in doing the activity why do it? The main reason is peer pressure. People just trying to fit in with the social groups that they trying to be in. How does the drug marijuana come into this? It is for the people that completely is against drugs in general would say marijuana is a gateway drug to diminish marijuana. Yes if you do smoke weed there is a more likely chance to move on to harder drugs. Use your free-will, nobody makes that decision for you, but you. You have your own mind nobody does the thinking for you unless you let them. B.F. Skinner views of behavior tell us that their environmental conditions determine their choices. So it’s more likely for someone that lives in a different area than you and grew up with people that smoke. Smoking pot is natural to them. So if people can be so self-determined, and were able to make their own choices without anyone to manipulate them instead being dependent on someone. They would stop calling weed a gate way
