Soccer is a game that is enjoyed worldwide and by many cultures. However, its history begins in China in the third and fourth centuries B.C. where there is evidence of people kicking a leather ball into a small net. Because of its evolution, modern Soccer truly began to gain popularity in England. Today, there are many Soccer clubs and tournaments. Soccer additionally has many rules unique to its gameplay. Additionally, there is a wide range of positions for players on a team. Finally, there are common injuries that Soccer players may encounter in their careers. In a direct free kick, the kicker can aim for the goal and the ball does not have to touch another player. Hence, it is called the direct kick because it can go directly into the goal. Furthermore, a player cannot trip, bite, spit on, hit, kick, hold, push, jump at, charge after, or strike the opposing players. If this rule is not followed, there will be a foul and the possibility of a penalty kick. Penalty kicks can occur after a player’s arm or hand touches the ball or after a foul within the penalty area.
