Hello let me start by asking you guys a question: have you ever felt like you have no motivation or interest in things, or maybe continuous low mood or sadness? Then you probably have Depression. I'm joking I'm not a doctor I can't diagnose you but, still you should probably get checked out because 60.6 percent of people in the US usually have it and are undiagnosed or untreated. I want to speak to you today about undiagnosed mental illness to inform people that this is a problem many people are just living with and may not even know it and may be affecting their lives in a negative way as well. This is starting to happen all over the world now, 1 in 4 usually are mentally ill.

(problem) If we help people that are dealing with this imagine how many lives would be better, 24% of our population wouldn't be on the streets, and 90% of our population could have jobs, and according to Luiese Brådvik in his article Suicide risk and mental disorders, 90% of our population would be alive. All this is just because of their undiagnosed mental illness (benefits). Certain people may say, well how would we get people that are suffering to realize that they should probably get tested or start getting treated? Overdiagnosis is when someone overly diagnoses someone with a bunch of illnesses to assign a mental disorder that never caused the symptoms or problems in the first place, often because the diagnosis is based exclusively on a list of symptoms not relating to your actual mental illnesses. Underdiagnosis is the opposite either not getting diagnosed with enough mental illnesses or not getting diagnosed at all. In teens, most girls get overdiagnosed with mental illnesses like depression, and anxiety on the other hand boys get underdiagnosed with those types of mental illnesses, but ADHD boys are more common to get over-diagnosed because it is more common in boys, and the opposite for girls they usually get under-diagnosed or don't get diagnosed at all.
