Good morning to the Brisbane City Council. I am Alina George from ECO Country and today I am standing in front of you to talk about a proposal for a sustainable city. The city is called Ambrosia, it is built on 52 hectares and accommodates 5808 people. Urban sustainability is a city designed with consideration for social, economic, environmental impact, and resilient habitat for existing populations, without compromising the ability of future generations to experience the same. The aim of this is to create the smallest possible ecological footprint and to produce the lowest quantity of pollution possible, to efficiently use land, compost used materials, recycle it or convert waste-to-energy, and to make the city’s overall contribution to climate change minimal. However, it can cause many environmental and social issues. Today, our energy system is based on extracting highly concentrated forms of energy we find in nature, such as fossil fuels, large rivers and waterfalls, burning trees and splitting uranium. Unfortunately, our energy system is dysfunctional because highly concentrated forms of energy are both in short supply and play critical roles in the ecosystem. Therefore, Ambrosia has over 850 solar panels, electric charging stations for cars and wind turbines. These features will help decrease ecological footprints and use of fossil fuels. Solar panels have many benefits as it is a renewable resource, reduces electricity bills, has diverse applications and low maintenance fees. Electric vehicles are cheaper to run and maintain, will increase air quality, has safety improvements and is much better for the environment in multiple ways. Wind power is cost-effective, costing between only two and six cents per kilowatt-hour. Moreover, wind turbines create many job opportunities for the community. Overall, I believe this city is energy
