Michael Jordan once said, according to (brainyquote), “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.” This is also true for different activities for instance soccer, hockey, and even video games. If you want to win championships you need teamwork and intelligence. Thanks to video games, it helps teamwork and social life. Also, it helps with certain parts of your brain. As well as, it improves decision making. For those three reasons, video games are good for you.

For the reason that, they are right hippocampus, right prefrontal cortex, and the cerebellum. These areas of the brain are responsible for navigation, memory, strategic planning, and small muscles in the hand. Which are useful skills to have. Firstly, having a good memory can improve grades making it easier to study. Secondly, strategy planning helps when making projects, in sports how to beat the other team. Finally, small muscles in the hand can help when shooting/spiking a ball like the wrist. Games like: Super Mario 64, Minecraft, and much more help with those areas. German researchers conducted a study to see if this is true. They had 23 men play Super Mario 64 at least 30 mins per day for 2 months. They have a different group who didn’t play anything. To test this, they used an MRI machine, which is a machine used to see inside your body. The result was that video games train parts of the brain, which are the right hippocampus, right prefrontal cortex, and the cerebellum. Citizens can counter that you can improve these parts of the brain through other activities. However, there is a possibility that you can’t play these activities in certain areas if its outside, and you can only stay in your house.
