In the historical fiction novel, The Book Thief, Markus Zusak writes to young adults about the time in the life of a little girl, Liesel Meminger, growing up in Nazi Germany through the eyes of death. A big reason the book is so emotional is due to Zusak’s way of writing which makes it so strong. He uses wording and metaphor to build up emotional gut punches, writes archetypes and settings in a way to attach readers to them, and outlines his themes using symbols to express said themes. Aside from this, they are also seen as the underdog; when all odds are against them they persevere. A great example of this is seen in the “Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Lightning Thief” written by Rick Riordan. Percy, in the novel, is written as a troubled youth battling his own internal battles all while trying to find himself and coming to terms with the fact that he is different and will forever be different.

We have all lived in the world of fairy tales and imagination but have we ever really focused on what intrigues us about these stories? The hero’s sacrifices and the villain’s decisive plots intrigue us the most in stories but these characteristics are what makes a character known for as a hero, villain and this is known as archetypes. This analyzation revolves around, The Princess Bride and archetypes that some of its character’s qualify of. According to my analysis, Westley portrays the hero, Prince Humperdinck portrays the villain/shadow and Dread Pirate Roberts portrays the Threshold Guardian. The first archetype that I have analyzed is a hero and I have identified Westley as the hero because he sacrifices many things in order to achieve his goal, a hero’s trademark.

The immoral decision was present throughout the movie by tinker-bell envy towards Wendy because Peter Pan is getting close to her. They started to create a special bond that tinker-bell would never have with Peter Pan and that is love. Tinkerbell saw that Peter Pan started to have feeling for Wendy and this lead to tinker bell to envy her. Envying her almost took her life by tinker bell jealously and telling one of the lost boys to kill her. The object of tinkbell’s envy toward Wendy was arrow, the intention was the possibly of killing her or hurt her to have the bond with Peter again, and Circumstance was tinker bell didn’t want anyone to stand in the way from her and Peter.

This story was about a young girl whose mother dies and later in the story, her father remarries a woman who had two daughters who treats Ashputtle terribly.
