Peter William Sutcliffe was born on June 2, 1946 in Bingley in the West Riding of Yorkshire. He was born to John William Sutcliffe and Kathleen Frances. He was later joined by five siblings. Peter is one of the most notorious serial killers of all time. Sutcliffe brutally murdered 13 women and attempted to murder seven others between 1975 and 1980. He was dubbed “The Yorkshire Ripper” by the press, drawing comparison to Jack the Ripper. During his youth Peter found it very hard to make friends, and was picked on and shunned by his fellow classmates, leading to him becoming a loner and having a very introverted personality. The bullying became so bad he hid from school for a short period of time. During high school he dropped out at age 15. This is when some bizarre behavior started. After dropping out Sutcliffe found a job in a mortuary and enjoyed toying with the bodies, placing them in grotesque poses. It was his first and only relationship. His first violent crime was committed in 1969, he struck a prostitute with a stone in a sock but she escaped and wasn’t interested in pressing charges. He attacked several other women before killing his first victim Wilma MCcann on October 3, 1975. He would go on to murder 12 other women in a five year span.
