In “Phoebe Prince: Should School Bullying Be a Crime?”, an article written by journalist Jessica Bennet, addresses and outcomes of school bullying whether if bullies get the consequences they deserve or not. This article aims the spotlight on bullying, a 15-year-old who took her own life due to harassment, torment, rumors, physical threats all leading it to being bullied by well-known good students. Not only does this article talk about Phoebe’s death but they talk about others who suffered the same as her. Students who were tormented for being gay all leading up to them ending their lives. One person gets bullied the bully gets bullied by others. Everyone is a bully now in today’s society, women, men, children, ourselves even our president is a bully. As a child I was always bullied, I’d receive unpleasant hurtful remarks from my classmates. Dan Olweus statement about bullying decreasing is false, just because there isn’t anyone who’s ended their lives recently doesn’t mean bullying has stopped. Bullying is always a problem, people just choose not to listen. I never complained to anyone about getting bullied due to fear and not wanting to look weak, but the problem was still there and it has not been resolved. Till this day I still get bullied by family and strangers, I don’t wish the worst on my bullies, but I wish for justification for those who have lost their lives due to their bullies, why is it fair that they can have a normal life and live their life to the fullest while that person who took their own life can’t do due to them laying in a grave under the ground? In conclusion bullying to death should be taken as crime, not a slap in the hand and say, “It’s okay”, people should see the rights and wrongs from those crimes they
