How Regular Physical Activity Affects GPA In University Students
GPA is generally thought of as important, especially for entrance into certain faculties in university. Other groups that might find GPA important are student loan organisiations, academic boards (many universities require students maintain a particular GPA to remain an active student), and future employers. So then, it is in each university student’s best interest to maintain the highest level of GPA possible. There are many factors that are claimed to affect GPA in students, but none such as easy to manipulate for student as physical activity. From walking the dog to playing sports, there are seemingly an infinite number of possibilities for students to become more physically active. This paper will attempt to show that physical activity does indeed have some impact on GPA, and that more physical activity translates to better grades in school.

Despite most respondents having access to local university recreational facilities, only one respondent reported that as the main location of their regular physical activity. The most popular choices were fitness centre and home, with ten and nine responses respectively.
When participants were asked to rate the amount of weekly physical activity, 19 (66%) indicated that their amount of activity is an average amount, while seven (24%) responded with below average and three (10%) indicated above average participation. In contrast to that, 18 (62%) total respondents answered that they greatly enjoy, or enjoy physical activity, while only five (17%) indicated that they mildly dislike, or dislike physical activity
