I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to be placed at your clinic as a student of Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant on the Rehab unit. I believe that the services you have to offer are incredibly unremarkable such acute care and specialized programs. I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge about Trillium Health Care Hospital and what it has to offer. I am currently enrolled in semester two of the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant program at Humber College. My previous work at Etobicoke General Hospital as a Co-op student has given me the opportunity to get the hands-on experience that they do not offer at school.
One of the reasons I want to become an Occupational Therapist Assistant is to help people who have been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome. Besides that, I am responsibility, patience and highly efficient person. I know that I have to handle and deal with too many things to become a PTA. I have known for years that I wanted to work in the realm of health science. I knew that I wanted to do something in sports medicine. When I took a deeper look into sports medicine I learned that there are many areas of sports medicine that you can get licensed in and that the sports medicine part would be a specialty to attach to it. So I took the list as started to look through it at each job that plays an affect in the sport medicine area. I narrowed in on Physical Therapy and then took the time to do some shadowing in it for my senior study.

Choosing a career in the medical field can very be overwhelming, there are a multitude of options. The job that is in demand the most is Registered Nurses. This degree, at the minimum, requires an associate’s degree. By the year 2020, all R.N.’s will need to have a BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing); Bachelor’s degree programs are 4-year programs. But don’t stop there, after 2-3 years of on the job experience, find what area you would like to specialize in, and go on and earn that Physician Assistant degree.

Working full time for the past two years, I have had experience being both a physical therapist aide/technician and even an assistant. I have completed observation hours at Gentilly Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation, where I was a technician to a couple physical therapy assistants and physical therapists. At Gentilly rehabilitation center, I understood the nature of the work by assisting patients through weight training, teaching them the proper way to move around and assisted with recording the progress of each treatment. While observing patients under a physical therapist's supervision, I also had the responsibility of supervising lower level technicians during my support duties. Then the following year I observed at PhysioFit; I had a chance to
