Executive Summary My first goal after completing my undergraduate degree in May 2026 is to attend a top 50 university physical therapy program. While looking at which programs to attend, a deciding factor would ultimately be location. I would like to be near a city with a professional sports team, so there are many opportunities to intern. I plan to be done with my graduate degree by May 2029. The main goal for my professional career is to stay involved with sports, so during the course of my graduate school career, I plan on making as many connections as possible. My current reality consists of the finishing of my sophomore year with almost seventy-five percent of my degree already finished. I have two more summers to do internships and shadowing before I apply to graduate school. I will complete anywhere from 150-200 hours of shadowing in different settings such as hospitals, private practice, and community health services. Once in graduate school I will continue to work hard in school, study often and try to maintain a 3.8 or higher gpa. Making connections is crucial to success as well, so as I experience different settings and clinicals I will make connections with others and possibly gain mentorship. As graduate school is completed, I will be applying to therapist practices that revolve around sports and start my professional career there. I plan on working with a company for 6-8 years before I start planning my departure to own my own practice. I think 6-8 years is a reasonable amount of time since I need years of experience and time getting a clientele going. I grew up surrounded by sports and team activities and I have learned many different ways to be a leader. My personal leadership plan involves improving the quality of my work and the amount of effort being put into completing each task. Showing the amount of effort I put into my daily tasks will hopefully help everybody around me to always give their best effort as well. I like to be proactive in what I do to have easier success, so as a leader I believe in proactive change that continues to help make my business successful. As a leader, I want to have power over everybody, but in a positive way. I will have expert power from all my schooling, informational power by being able to communicate with others easily, legitimate power by working my way up to the top, and most importantly referent power by being someone who people can trust and respect.
