Physical Therapy I picked this career field because it interests me and because I am not the type of person to be behind a desk all day. I will be talking about what an employee does, how their work environment is, how you enter this career, what the pay is like, the job outlook, and the area that you should be in if you want to be in this career field. Physical therapy is in the career pathway of health sciences this includes jobs like doctors, surgeons, nurses, mental health therapists, and physical therapists. People that work in the career pathway of health sciences keep people healthy by doing tests, giving care and medication, or sometimes do surgery. Chiropractors treat patients with health problems of the neuromusculoskeletal system this includes nerves, bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Audiologists diagnose hearing problems with people. Recreational therapists plan recreation based treatment services to injured people. What do you need to get a degree in this profession? Professional physical therapists education programs offer a doctor degree. The length of the program is usually three years but also you have to pass a state exam. The areas you would learn about would be biology/anatomy, physiology, management sciences, sociology, clinical reasoning, biomechanics, and kinesiology. The tuition rates per year for DPT programs are public in state $14,427, public out of state $29,157, and private schooling at $31,716. This is the career field that I choose and why I want to go into it.
